Dr. Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) is considered the father of Hypnoses. In the 18th century, in Vienna, the medical society was scandalized by the radical healing methods of Dr. Mesmer (Alan Rickman), based on Electro-Magnetism and Hypnosis. His main success is the healing of a blind pianist with whom the doctor begins a relationship. But the medical community will use that relationship to expel Mesmer from the country and destroy his controversial career.
